"Many Promenades de Cheval provide tourists with horseback riding throughout the Camargue. This young gentleman guides the tourists through the marshes and along dikes that separate pastures and bird sanctuary areas. The stick he carries is part of the traditional way the Guardians of the horses herd their cattle and test footing and water depth as they travel." Karen
